The delicate and important role that the senior-ranking leader must balance within the organization to achieve success is to be the one who influences the behavior of employees. The senior-ranking leader influences the employees in various ways. The first way through which the senior-ranking leader can affect employees behavior is by setting a transparent organizational vision. A clear organizational vision allows employees to realize how their efforts are incorporated with the organizations wider aims, hence pleasuring them in what they accomplish. The second way is by motivating employees and enhancing their development. The leader may motivate employees by adding their salaries on top of their basic salary. Motivating employees help to energize their morale in working. Lastly, the leader should guide his/her employees through the process of working. Guiding the employees in the work process helps in their productivity and performance in an organization.

The organization is trying to employ various ways to enable the followers who resist change to join the change efforts. The first way is to listen first and talk later. The organization listens to the employees views first in an organization and later responds to them accordingly. Giving the employees a chance to express themselves helps to alleviate any kind of disappointments and frustrations they may be going through. The second way of overcoming the resistance to change is communicating the reason for the change to the employees. According to Lussier and Achua, effective communication by the organization, segments, and targets each person in the organization (184-185). Therefore the communication shows employees what they need to know and care about. Lastly, the organization delegates change and trains team members first about change. The team members will, in return, act as role models to the rest of the employees.
