Introduction

Each culture has its distinctive features and similarities. These intersections may occur due to the similarity of many practices and the mixing of cultures during historical development. Thus, within the framework of this work, particular emphasis is placed on African American and Samoan cultures. Therefore, these people are characterized by the presence of their traditions, worldviews, religions, and attitudes toward other people. The study of the differences and similarities of these cultures can provide a more detailed understanding of the people who are their representatives.

Discussion

First, it is worth considering the similarities between African American and Samoan cultures. Thus, the first of them is the appreciation of their heritage by interpreting the traditional elements in attire into everyday life. Hence, this applies to clothes, accessories, and hair styling methods. Moreover, another similarity is the respect and importance of family values. Consequently, in both cultures, family closeness, community bonding and solidarity and children are supposed to respect their elders, avoid shaming their family (Samoa facts and culture, n.d., para. 1; Smith et al., 2020, p. 1238). This shows that both cultures have many similar features that can bring people together. Awareness of cultural differences contributes to the limitation of interethnic and intercultural conflicts (Wood, 2015). Hence, the main difference between African American and Samoan cultures is that African-American band is more likely to distinguish themselves from others due to the hardships experienced by their ancestors.

Conclusion

In conclusion, finding characteristics that unite and distinguish cultures among themselves can provide precious insight. Therefore, this applies to multiple aspects of peoples lives, such as family, traditions, faith, and cultural practices. In addition, it is worth noting that communication plays a leading role in this topic. Awareness of similarities and differences will provide the possibility of reducing the possibility of the appearance of conflict situations.
