Responsibility is an important feeling one may have. As a future nurse, I feel responsible not only for my relatives and friends but also for the outcomes of my future patients. In this paper, after defining the notion of responsibility, I explain who I feel responsible for, and why.

A responsible person is one who, while acting, attempts to calculate the effects of their actions, and feels accountable for their outcomes, which leads them to strive to act in ways the outcomes of which are as good as possible. A responsible person will not act spontaneously, disregarding the potential effects of their actions. Instead, they will do things consciously, accepting not only the praise if the consequences are positive, but also the blame if what they do leads to controversial or adverse effects. Another usage of this word should also be noted: if a person feels responsible for something (or someone), they believe that their actions might affect that something considerably, and thus strive to act to cause the best outcomes.

In my todays life, I feel most responsible for my closest relatives and friends; but, as a nurse, I also feel responsible for my future patients. As a daughter, I understand that my parents and relatives put a considerable effort to raise me, so I should be grateful, and help them when I can, especially when it becomes difficult for them to e.g. care about themselves. I am also grateful to my friends for all the good they do to me, and I feel responsible for them so that we could truly support and rely on one another in case of need. My sense of responsibility also extends beyond my family, friends, and school; as a nurse student, I understand that a day will come when the health and lives of individuals will depend upon my actions and that these people will rely on my aid. This is why I feel responsible for them and attempt to study hard to be able to assist them better in the future.

Thus, the term responsibility refers to a feeling of being accountable for ones actions; another use denotes a feeling of being accountable for outcomes of a particular thing or person. I feel responsible for my family and friends; but, as a nurse, I also feel responsible for the outcomes of my future patients.
