Based on the discussion about theory, I choose feminist ethics, because feminist ethics is focused on advancing womens interests and correcting injustices inflicted on women through social oppression. Also, feminist ethics is not only concerned with womens interests. However, feminism is about working against the systems built to keep certain groups of people oppressed and striving toward equality for everyone. It means fighting for intersectionality and acknowledging how race, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status affects feminism. So, it is very important because feminism allows equal opportunities for both sexes.
I chose this theory of ethics because I want to educate everyone that both women and men are equal regarding their abilities and capabilities. Women are also capable of mens work, the proof is that women also had that strength that men have, on the other hand, men also are capable to do womens duties, and this thing will never change their masculinity just because they did things that most of the women do. Needless to say, women and men are capable to do everything, it is just the mentality of others who dictates every gender on what they are supposedly doing. Furthermore, since feminist ethics aims for equality, I will include the LGBTQ community. We as human beings must also treat them equally, because they are also human, the only difference is that they believe that they are opposite of what gender they are, but nonetheless, they are also like us, they do not harm others, and all they need and want are love, peace, and acceptance from the society who always judge the decision they made and the path that they have chosen.
Therefore, women and men, including the LGBTQ community, must have the freedom to express themselves because we are all human beings with different abilities, capabilities, and beliefs. And even though there are differences between us, we must make it so that we have this unity in order to achieve a better state not only for ourselves but also for the world in which we live.
In conclusion, feminist ethics aims to understand, criticize, and correct how gender operates within our moral beliefs and practices, as well as our methodological approaches to ethical theory. Also, feminist ethics that paid attention to these different identities and perspectives became centrally important to taking women’s lives and experiences seriously and central to eliminating the oppression of women, sexual minorities, and other oppressed groups.
