The difficulties I have encountered when searching for the needed information is low key-word sensitivity and lack of region-specific settings. Firstly, the database showcased the works that included the key words occasionally inside the article but not the title and consequently were not of the highest importance. Additionally, the results showed numerous works that were culturally and legally inapplicable to the nursing practice in the US.
Despite the difficulties in narrowing down the search, this database will be helpful to my colleagues due to its extensive, peer-reviewed, and multidisciplinary information. For instance, during my search, numerous articles on other aspects of nursing leadership and executive positions were discovered. Research by Persaud (2020) extends the information in the chosen material and adds depth to it by emphasizing the role of diversity and inclusivity in nursing management. While it was not significant to my research, my colleagues might find this information helpful. From my experience, Nursing & Allied Health Database allows users to deepen their knowledge on a wide range of topics using multiple perspectives, which is essential in implementing change.
I would recommend this database due to its high usability not only in the US but also in other countries and varied areas of expertise that it covers. As it concerns the sensitivity to the region, the database enables researchers to find location-specific information that is additionally explored through different perspectives. For example, an article by Choi et al. (2018) on the topic of educational leadership investigates the necessity of effective executive nurses-managed communication. Although this research is not directly connected to my area of interest due to its cultural specificities, the recommendations of the authors can be applied to the American context as an additional lens of perspective. Apart from qualitative research that was chosen for this posting, the other peer-reviewed quantitative articles like the one mentioned above allow researchers to apply knowledge of different areas to the selected issue.
